Please check back after the August meeting for start dates.

The Frankenmuth Forest Archers work with boys and girls ages 3 to 12 interested in shooting archery. The dedicated members of the club will be there to offer instruction to the kids if they need it and also to help with any equipment questions that you might have.

The kids league runs for 10 weeks and usually begins in January. The cost is $2.00 per child and only needs to be paid when you attend. The doors open at 6 p.m. for warm up and shooting begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. so that the kids get home at a decent time. For the past few years we have had a high volume of kids shooting and for this reason we have been running two nights (Monday and Wednesday) so that we can keep it safe and fun. The pre-registration of kids decides how many nights we will run from year to year. If there are not enough to support two nights, we will drop it back down to one night, so pre-registration is important.

We do have some bows (both traditional and compound) and arrows that the kids can use to get started, but we highly recommend that they work into their own equipment so that they can get more comfortable and accurate with it.

The past few years we have had an essay writing contest for the kids to compete for a sponsorship to the MSC Camp Wilderness. The kids that win the contest get to go to camp for a weekend and receive their hunter safety and IBEP certificates as well as learn many great things about safety and hunting and they get to have a lot of fun doing it.

If you have questions on the kids league, please contact us for answers.
